hi, i've chosen a solid walnut kitchen (shaker style door), with built in stainless steel appliances - it's all ordered but I'm having difficulty choosing my worktop! I initially wanted a bright quartz surface (nothing too busy - that's why I'm not going for granite). Any ideas on what's out there - has anyone any experience with Corian / Vellstone? Or can anyone suggest a quartz colour (in the ivory / white /cream shades) that might suit? We have a large islanfd in the middle of the kitchen which will be wrapped in whatever substance we pick. Love some ideas, thanks

I have black granite so mo original ideas but make sure you get a supplier who will cut in a "proper" draining board for your sink, those few drainage "lines" you often see are not adequate.

    Hi Adelphi,

If your choosing a worktop to go with walnut my advice is to choose a bright colour. This is particularly important if your kitchen is any way dark and lacking natural light. Maybe look at the Silestone.com website. I would recommend something along the lines of Stellar Blanco as it will reflect the light and give an airy and contemporary feel to your walnut kitchen. Also the silver fleck in it will pick up the stainless steel appliances. Lots of companies out there doing quartz so you could just use this Silestone colour as a reference.

    Hope this helps!
