I've the 3MB eircom connection and for some reason tonight on the router page the speed's dropped to 2432/384 from the usual 3072/384. Could this be from excessive downloading on my part or is it just a temporary blip?

Call them up and find out.

In the meantime, what are your line stats (Line Attenuation and SN/Noise Margin)?

Just copied this straight from the router page:

Max Allowed Speed (kbps) 2432 384
    SN Margin (dB) 7.00 15.00
    Line Attenuation (dB) 30.50 17.50
    CRC Errors 0 2

They're not great, if I'm being honest. That 7dB signal is borderline. Call Eircom up and mention nothing about those stats, just bring up the lack of sync.

Power off and on the modem to get it to resync. Mine looses sync about 3 times a week (though stopped it for a few months then back). Plugging it in and out again gets it back to full speed.

My Attenuation is bad, but SNR on the Line is good.

Tried restarting the connection a few times last night to no avail but I rebooted the modem and it's back to its proper speed.

    Cheers

Yeah I found the Modem's "Restart" function in the Setup screen doesnt get the speed back either.
