can anybody tell me the best type of cavity wall insulation.
Kingspan 60mm or beaded warmfill that would be pumped into the cavity before plastering.which would be cheaper, more cost effective etc

What u-value are you looking for?
    How big is the cavity?
Whats the makeup of the outer leaf (block/rendered or brick)?
How exposed are the external walls to the elements?
What do you mean by "best"?

Cheapest is the pumped bead, best in terms of performance against thickness is kingspan. In calculation that I have done I have found that you need more than 100mm of the pumped bead or additional dryling internally (which is quite expensive) to achieve the 0.27 u value as required by the regs.

We will be having a cavity of 150 mm, We would like to fill the cavity with the beads and also put in the insulated slab internally. Is this possible as I have heard that there may be problems with dampness with this method?

We will be putting in the insulated slab, if the above would not work what would be the best alternatives for the cavity?

With a 150mm Cavity and Drylining both methods will definately comply. The pumped plus the drylining will be a lot cheaper than 100 or 110mm of board insulation in the cavity plus the drylining but in theory the more expensive option should give you a greater performance. A lot of recent projects that I had done have used the pumped and drylining for mainly cost reasons.

4 inch cavity block/ rendered wall
    u value max 0.27
which insulation is better kingspan or beads
which would be cheaper. quoted 1600 euros for kingspan(50 bales@ 32euros)

go for 110mm cavity.pump it with platium beads to get your u-value of 0.27...but to future proof it, you should go for a u-value of 0.20.. for that the cheapest is 150mm cavity pumped with platium beads.Or it will cost you 3000 extra to pump 110mm cavity and also put the insulated board on the external walls to give you a u-value of 0.20....Im going for the second option because i heard good comments about the insulated board.
