O2 Network: 'searching'

having a hell of an issue with O2 mobile broadband. status states connected but the network changes to 'searching' and remains like that indefinitely. neighbour is also having the same problem. have tried uninstalling/re-installing the software, tried different laptops and left old e220 modem in for repair and the problem…

O2 don't seem to have a notion. anyone else experiencing this?
