Transplants

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could give me some information on organ transplantation in Ireland? For example, what is the procedure to evaluate a person in need of a tranplant. What might a person requiring a tranplant be expected to do, that sort of thing. Why might a person be refused or left on the waiting list.
    Replies much appreciated.

Beaumont hospital is the main transplant centre in Ireland, so I'm sure they could provide some info on the subject. I'm not sure how relevant it is to Ireland, but the NHS transplant website is a really good general resource on all aspects including waiting times, allocation etc.
