    Hi

Just wanted to let people know out there of a great service available to all golf players from 25 hc to scratch. A few weeks ago I headed down to the team in foregolf in Naas for a session.I was advised by one of the players in my club here in Mayo to check them out.

I have to say what a great set up and what a great bunch of people. I am a 24 HC but I have the ability to be playing off at least 13 or 14 but due to lack of practice I have being unable to get it down.

If anyone is thinking of getting new clubs and is in need of advice or help you wont do better than checking out the team here. I have already got cut 4 shots in 5 weeks and my call has come on leaps and bounds thanks to the fitting and advice I got from Derek and the guys.

    Thanks

reports are good, but should you really only go down there to get properly fitted if you're below 15 handicap? maybe spend the 100 or so on lessons and wait til you get good before you get fitted???

It wasn't a piece of advise, it was a simple request. Thankfully you've probably got yourself a ban anyway.

    Enjoy

Im just responding to the original c**k's post, why does my post count matter. If I havent posted a whopping 139 times like yourself am I not allowed to respond to sum1 who's clearing just looking for a row, thru his computer, which is just sad. Yes I notice the irony of me responding but meh responses like that to ppl looking for advise just pis* me off!

    NO txt speak please...
It's one of the few rules we have around here.. see the charter:
    Posting in "rtrd"
    - Using txtspk n ur psts is cnsdrd been rlly stpd cuz u hv qwert kbd n ur pc so xpct 2 b wrnd. Please don't do this, this is not a bannable offence but repeat offenders might be "asked" to take a break from posting.
Leave the modding to the mods too.. report the post if you have a problem with it.

Regarding looking for advice, taking some time to phrase your question in a way that doesn't antagonise other posters is a good start.

Altho I dont think my posts were as unreadable as the example above I'll try keep it in check if its an established rule.

One aspect of custom fitting is length & lie of golf clubs. Swing speed, launch angles and a myriad of other aspects can be covered. Unless you are 14 years old and still growing, some things about your game won't change, like your height, so a lot of the information you get from a fitting won't change even if you go from 24 to 4 handicap. One of the biggest differences between high and low handicappers is, ...consistency. Having the right clubs helps.

I'm buying new clubs soon,my handicap would be i the low 20s...a few shops offer ,what i would imagine is, a basic club fitting service free of charge...
for a golfer of my standard, would i be right in assuming that this fitting would be adequate for me,rather than fork out 100 quid or so for expert fitting at foregolf?

Again, depends on the shop. The basic stuff they will do is adjust the length, then work out the shaft, graphite or steel, L/A/R/S/X, and lean you towards what they eant to sell. There are no set rules. There is no magic formula that makes fitted clubs extra-special. But you are better off with sticks that are measured for you, rather than off-the-rack ones.
