Yes, as you will no longer be entitled to free fees. But then again, everyone might be obliged to pay fees next year anyway

In 2004, I dropped out in November and then started a new course in 2005.

I did not have to pay fees but I wasnt entitled to a grant.

Under the current system, no you would not have to pay fees for next year. However, if the the Education minister re-introduces tuition fees from next September, then you will almost certainly have to pay them. It is not know how the fees will be presented yet-there are five different proposals.

Also you would have to drop out by October 31st to not be liable for fees next year. If you drop out after October 31st but before January 31st, you will be liable for half tuition fees. Finally if you drop out after January 31st, you will be liable for full tuition fees.

Ok so nothing is certain yet, but dont be naive, it is almost a dead cert that fees will apply to everyone starting college this year or after from the 2010/2011 academic year on. The only people who wont have to pay fees at all are those of us already in college from last year or before for the duration of our studies.
So I would say take advantage of free fees this year if you can.

. Finally if you drop out after January 31st, you will be liable for full tuition fees.

and if you complete the year? will you be liable for full fees?
