Mini Laptop specs!!

    Hi...I was in power city today and they are selling 10" mini laptops for €300...im not sure what spec i should be looking for when buying one pf these. it will be used for browsing and online poker! the machine had 1G ram,160G hard drive..3 usb ports. not sure on the processor or graphics card...can anyone advose me o the standard specs i should look for.

    The processor will most likely be the 1.6Ghz intel Atom. And the graphics will be integrated. The main difference between netbooks is the battery life, some only have around 2 hours, where as others will have 7+ (Samsung NC10 with the 6 cell battery)

    thanks for the reply...battery life is important alright,thanks for the reminder..also i assume all these mini's are built with the appropriate technology for wifi connection..or would that be extra?

    Every laptop/netbook these days have Wifi

    pretty much standard specs for all non-sdd netbooks at the momenrt.
    Only real questions you need to ask are:

    Battery life:
    you really want something that lasts min 6hours.

    Operating System:

    Avoid vista as it runs poorly on 1Gb. Linux isnt as user friendly to a beginner (although some swear by it!). Xp runs quite well.

    Can the RAM be upgraded?
    Some netbooks have the RAM soldered on and no option to upgrade. If this is something you want to do in the future find out.
