which VTR....the saxo, berlingo and the new c4 all had vtr models !

drove the saxo vtr think it was the 1.4 one for the irish market and was slow enough and pedals very close together if ya have big feet. the 1600 english model was faster. small car though ya need to be short to really enjoy them. the vts was most fun like a little go kart, great performance. citreon saxo are old now so expect plenty of problems with them as not the most reliable

As above, give us the details!

The 1.4VTR isnt anything to write home about, but the 1.6VTS is a nice car, quick to go. If I was going for one, it would be the VTS.

A lot of miles for a type of car which in general lead very hard lives usually bouncing off the rev limiter.

I tried to drive my cousin's 1.6 UK spec Saxo once and could not get used to it at all. Every time i went to change gear or accelerate I ended up hitting the brake (and my nose of the steering wheel:)) . If you can get used to the very cramped pedal box I am sure they are a bit of crack.

As for reliability I would never buy a French car (apart from an old 205gti) especially a small one like a Saxo or 106. Thats just my personal opinion though some people love them.

Have you an indication of how much a new shaft, mirrors and battery and labour is going to cost you???

In excellent condition, I would say the car is worth around the €1.5k to €2k mark for a 1999....

mirrors 43 euro each from mick garage battery from halfords about 60 70 euro i have a trade card so knock 30% off the battery the bloke sellin me the car can get me a drive shaft for 100 can do the work my self so no cost on labour is it worth getting

the 1.6vtr is nothing to write home about.
it is pretty cheap but you're probably going to get some engine trouble..

Feck all power in them but fun handling. I've had a saxo for 2 years and think it's grand. Can't wait to change it though but moving abroad soon. You get used to the pedals after a while unless you're a serious retard.
