The UFC’s next European venture after UFC 105 will be a January

show in the UK or Republic of Ireland, Fighters Only was told today.

According to UFC UK president Marshall Zelaznik, the organisation is looking at a number of loacations for a January 30th show, including Dublin, Glasgow and Nottingham.

Dublin is also being looked at for a March event which would take place on a weekend close to St. Patrick’s Day, which falls on March 17th.

And in February the UFC is looking to expand to another new country, with a February event at the Arco Arena in Sydney, Australia.

Plans are currently being drawn up for the Antipodean adventure, which is something Dana White has made public reference to recently.

Meanwhile, the UFC UK office is currently engaged in promoting the November 14th event that will take place in Manchester, England (UFC 105).

Tickets are already 70 per cent sold out and the event is one of the top ten fastest selling UFC shows in the organisation’s history.

“We had 70 per cent of tickets sold as of yesterday. I had a look at some charts today and its in the top ten fastest-selling shows in UFC history. The presale before Randy [Couture] was announced was already going through the roof,” Zelaznik told Fighters Only today.

More than likely it will end up with the Jan event in England and the March event in Dublin if they realize want to line up with the St. Patrick's day Holiday.

Do you reckon we'll get a good card in Dublin after how impressed the UFC were with the Dublin crowd at 93?

I know Franklin v Hendo was a big enough match but would kill for another title fight. There's only been three title fights in Europe ever (UFC 38, 75 and 80) and the last one was in January 2008, we could really use another one soon!

I hope so. They will only be able to get away with just novelty of having a show in Ireland for so long before the fans realize they keep getting a sub-par show.

The thing with title fights is that they have the vast majority of them in Vegas because that's where they can get away with charging the highest ticket prices. Other than that they have them in a fighter's hometown (GSP in Montreal, Franklin in Cincinnati) for the same reason. Putting on a title fight here would mean a big loss in revenue for them, either through reduced ticket prices or unsold tickets

I think that's a long time away, considering that there's been one show and it wasn't really sub-par

Ok fine, I'll go win a world title just to bring them to Ireland.
