Have you got the 1.9D..1.6 hdi..20 hdi..??

When you say the "accelerator pedal hops" do you mean the engine hesitates
    on acceleration...
The 1.9d engines have very little electrics/sensors compared to the hdi's.
It maybe fuel/injector related or dirt/sh1t in the system....

ya its like its stavred of diesel for a second then is fine again. had it hooked up to computer this morning think its dirty injectors so gonna see if fuel cleaner does the trick

Fathers van an 03 has an accelerator problem too.

Turns out it was a faulty Air sensor.

    Hope you got yours sorted.

Yep 1.9d model. If it acts up again, we'll try fuel cleaner.

So its back to the guessing game! If you can get a diagnostic done.
See what sensor is causing the problem, should save you time and money
if its die evry time you drive it.

This may be unrelated but on the berlingos the plastic fuel line can tend to wear a tiny hole and this draws in air and can give the problems you refer to and eventually will not be able to draw any fuel. You wont physically be able to see the hole. Most people mis diagnose this small problem and replace the pump. It will probably be on the line into the pump. It may not be this but worth keeping in mind as its a cheap fix.

thanks will mention it to him alright before he starts to tear it all apart but it all happened over about a week and there was dirt in the filter housing aswell so figure will try that first
