Anyone know where in Dublin I could find a gothic lolita-style dress or something similar?

Nope unfortunately not yet. England has a few smaller places in Camden but I haven't heard great things about them.

Choice and pricing in Dublin isn't great. You could try Fresh in Temple Bar, BabyDoll Boutique, also in Temple Bar, there's a shop in Georges St Arcade... I can't think of the name of it now though.

You're probably best ordering online though.

Think that shop is just called Retro - here's a link to their Facebook page

For actual lolita rather than just loliable, there's a small indie brand called Dreamwear, they sell at anime conventions mostly, and through facebook. Also, joining one of the comms (iregl on livejournal or Irish Lolitas on fb) would help, they know where to get everything. Both groups are private so you'd need to talk to a member.

My friend was massively into this at one point, I'm afraid your best bet is buying online. My friend would buy from the main Japanese brands. Its an expensive hobby! However you could try some of the main livejournal communities for people in Europe/Ireland selling their second hand dresses.

Its an umbrella fashion for different styles. From what I've heard it can be a fatphobic, misogynist and transphobic community.

That's a small minority who give a poor impression of the larger community.
I'm into Lolita fashion and I'm very strongly against transphobia and the others you mentioned above :)
Don't judge us all by online trolls :)
