    Just a quick message to rally the troops and vote in the Greatest Irish Sports person of all time been run by RTE.

    Athletics is represented by Sonia O'Sullivan, John Tracey, Eamonn Coughlan, Ronnie Delany and Mary Peters. So we should get behind our sport and cast our vote. There is also a poll for the greatest sporting memory and a one for 'So Near and Yet So Far Moment' .. so lots of places to slot in athletics memories.

    I personally gave my vote to Sonia, an athlete who has been through it all and without a doubt deserves the award.
