    ARMA 2 PATCH 1.04
Copyright (c) 2009 Bohemia Interactive. All rights reserved.

    SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
    - ANY ORIGINAL VERSION OF ARMA 2 from 1.00 to 1.03 other than the Steam version, Steam users should use the auto updating feature instead (their game will not be playable if they apply this patch until they recover it again from Steam)
    - DirectX 9 March 2009 is required and should be updated during the patching process automatically as needed or you can update your version of DirectX from www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/

IMPORTANT: This patch doesn't work with STEAM version. Use steam auto update feature instead if you own Steam version!

    HOW TO INSTALL THE PATCH:
    - Run the patch exe to apply the patch setup automatically.
    - It will install all content of the patch to the folder with your ArmA 2 installation (default is C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2 or Bohemia Interactive\ArmA2).
    - Please note that it is not possible to rollback to a previous version after the installation of this patch, only a full reinstall of the game is possible, if you want to keep your previous version you may want to backup the entire game installation folder before applying this patch.
    - It is not recommended to use any savegames created in versions 1.00 or 1.01, if you use a savegame from 1.03 some of the fixes may not apply to that game in progress until the beginning of a new mission.

I hope this patch has fixed the campaign completely as it very useful for people just trying to get into the game for the first time rather than delving in at multiplayer level.
    - Fixes and improvements in most of the campaign missions (Into the Storm, Harvest Red, Bitter Chill, Manhattan, Badlands, Dogs of War)

The missions above were the worst affected with Dogs of War bordering on unplayable. (I took this from the 1.03 patch, I never realised they addressed it in that)
Multiplayer: fixed scoring, multiple mission parameters added and various other MP-related improvements

    Sounds good.

Not noticed a single difference other than the Enemy AI doubling in numbers in Domination, up to 20 troops now parajump in from chopper at a time, instead of the usual 10 or so and now a jet or 2 circle over the towns in domination, not seen this before the patch. Its just got a lot harder

Will check this out tomorrow. Some good fixes there. I'm glad they fixed that rudder bug with the aircraft - it was annoying.

Thx for updating the server Kinetic (presumably in between games of peggle)

Yeah, supposedly the -cpucount= thingy works better now and smoothes out the game, less flashing textures etc

Are you paid by Arma developers to like defend this game whole heartedly, seriously like..

This game is still bugged to ****, its expected yes, but its getting annoying at this stage.

Me and my mates are still struggling to try find good servers, the lanparty one has only ever 2 people in it or no one...

I'm also getting tired of playing AI enemies, is there no servers with human elements competely, or is that option even in this game?

Its getting too easy steamrolling the AI...and the single player campaign can go and ****ing ****e in all honesty...

This game gets a max 1 hour play from us before we get bored...usually cause the clinetel that play it are ****ters...

Maybe get a date set to fill that irish server to the brim, and we can have a proper command structure and play the game its ment to be played?

And hopefully you all know how to use spacebar, cause im also sick to my teeth of friendly fire from absolute plebs, there should be a screening done before this game is sold to tards.

The reason for lack of PvP servers is that it's very resource heavy, even on the server side. The machine we have running it has 4gb of ram and quad core and it still struggles so to get a PvP machine with decent numbers (20+) would require a really expensive server and unless someone works in an ISP data centre I can't see one becoming available any time soon. The server I have set up tends to get more use Fri-Sun so maybe try it out then.

Steamrolling AI? It often takes a good few of us over an hour to clear one town, takes around 6-8 hours to clear the full Domination mission. You've obviously been playing public servers on regular, we play on veteran (its just gotten harder with latest patch). I do agree that public servers can be annoying

At the moment we're running a 2GB Sahrani map mod, it makes it quieter than Chernarus servers, but having to download 2GB takes dedication and looses all the N00bs and TKers. Sahrani is spectacular on Arma2, its a much more natural map than Chernarus, with bigger towns, buildings You can enter, civilians and mountains etc. Runs much better too, I can set viewdistance to over 5000 where my pc is only able for half that on Chernarus.

Why don't You come along and get Your friends to join also, we'll be online later. From what I've seen people look for servers with 8-10 players, You and Your mates could help us get to that number. I've actually been quite busy at work lately and haven't had much energy for gaming in the evenings but I'll be on this evening

I can't agree with You that the game is bugged to shít, I'm having no real problems

There are PvP servers, but they're run by clans and passworded

Any idea what happened it last night?

it died bigtime when 8 or so players were on it.

No idea. Nothing else on the server. As pog said, it could be that it needs a raid set up.

No, I'm pretty sure he's not paid by the developers,it is just that good....there is a core of about 5-6 players on the Lanparty server that are on most nights, me being one of them. I have to say this is one of the most addictive games I've played....ever....and I don't experience any problems with bugs/glitches etc. You need to be playing with a few people and have Mumble/Teamspeak set up. For me, it's the bees knees. Saying that, I do think that it's definitely not for everyone.
