Sold car and left insurance disk in it

I sold a car recently but forgot to remove the insurance disk from the window. Am I liable for ensuring that it doesn’t get used illegally? Should I inform the insurance company? I did ask the buyer to send it onto me, but he hasn’t, 2 weeks later.

    X.

well you'll get a new disc for your next car anyway. But tell them just to be safe. Sure I left my license in a car I sold :D

Wouldnt worry about it, you're not "Liable" for anything that the car is involved in from now on.

.. You might be asked by your insurance company to return your exisiting disc if you are switching policies over to a new car but thats about it

@steve06 - did the new owner not try and get your license back to you?
