Why do you want her to get rid of it? She has obviously seen it and is happy with her looks.....

You could say something like 'Oh my friends mother has a terrible ronny and doesnt seem to notice - please tell me if I have the same probem'.

its not just slightly noticable its like a mans...when we're out drinking, drink gets stuck in. i just feel really sorry for her because everyone talks about it behind her back. everyone is afraid to tell her incase she thinks its personal and falls out with us. i dont think anybody would be happy if they new everyone talked about it and was so noticable. i think perhaps she doesnt think its so obvious.

Think you need to be honest and say it to her. Yes she will be embarrassed but in the long run she will be glad.

Have a girls night out, get her wasted and wax it off when she's asleep.

But if she doesn't have a problem with it why would you want to tell her? Fair enough if she starts to complain that she never cops off with guys, you could then tell her (subtly) it may have something to do with the aul tache but until she does say something to you it's none of your business.

    She never "Cops off"
she has mentioned it before but said she wouldnt touch it cause it would grow back worse. some girls used to live with her and they would be waxin, pluckin etc but she never did.
its the first thing you see when you look at her. even older people have commented on. shes only 20 and its ruinin her face.

Well then wait until she says it again and then tell her that the reason why is because of the moustache. I think it's unfair to just blurt it out to her.

OP: you seem a little obsessed with hair on other people... What's up?

Just because it annoys you doesn't mean it annoys her. She's hardly missed seeing it on her face so maybe she's happy at it?
ARe you really good friends with her? perhaps you could bring it up in a subtle way, act as if you've seen someone with one and see what she says?
I know a woman who's had a 'ronnie' her whole life, she never dyed or waxed it and is getting married to her boyfriend of 10 years. Not to say that if you have a 'ronnie' you're less likely to get married but it's hardly the end of the world is it? :)

If she knows herself that she has a Ronnie and is any bit self-conscious about it there is probably another reason why she wont get it waxed. Someone touched on it: she might be afraid it will grow back darker. I can promise it wont-it doesnt on legs so why would lip be any different?

I used to have a Ronnie, but I would bleach it because I was self conscious. Does she even do that?? I thought no one noticed it because it was fair (after bleach) but someone always does be it a boy or girl.

It shouldnt be embarassing to you OP as her friend, none of your business. But if she asks and you feel that she is missing out on boys or that people are talking about her, you defo should tell her. But only if you are a close confidante, otherwise it might seem sneaky. Get her best best friend to tell her.

If that were me when i had my Ron I would want to have known because I honestly was in this dream world that no one noticed it!!! But now I get him get waxed and I have never looked back (my upper lip is slightly chilly though)!

    Just say it to her.

I won't grow back worse. Thats bull. It will grow back worse only if she shaves and not waxes it.

    Hi Op,
I suggest yourself and the rest of your friends chip in a few quid and then you and the ronnie girl go for a facial together to a swanky salon. Tell her you won the vouchers or something in work and you want to treat her coz she's such a good friend or whatever.

Before you do this however, visit the salon yourself and explain to the therapist what you are doing. Then the therapist can handle it. They are well used to it.

    Good luck btw.
Your friend is way too young to be have a tash !!!

Get one of your friends who has one, but removes it to have a talk with her.
If she still doesn't want to do anything about it, then leave her be.

its not at all embarrasing for me...why would it be. i just feel bad for her. we are good friends but shes not the most approachable type.
she never bleaches it,its thick and black.
i have tried to drop hints like talking about people on telly that have a ronnie but she doesnt comment. i told her it diffently wouldnt grow back quicker. shes got sisters that would wax theirs but she still doesnt. i cant see why anyone would not get rid of it.EVERYBODY talks about it:mad:

this probalby terrible idea, but is there anyway you could let her know without her knowing who told her, like a postcard, hi jane, you have a mustashe

Unless you personally have an issue with her hairy upper lip, this is not a PERSONAL issue.

    Thread closed.

(For the record, balls up and tell her that you find it unattractive. If she wants to do something about it, fine)
