    Hi,

Im trying to purchase a 10meter radio in the states for use back in Ireland. Will it need to be modified to operate on the frequencies in Ireland or will there be issues with power if im putting into the car?

The radio is a magnum 257 10 meter.

That radio would be illegal in Ireland for CB and only legal for use with an amateur licence.

Hi, thanks for that. I know its output to 30watts and therefore requires a license, but will it work?

Most cars in both Ireland and the US would have "12 Volt negative earth" electrical systems so I wouldnt see an issue there although as other posters have pointed out there may be licencing issues.

Oh and technically you may be liable from import duty as its coming from outside the EU/EEA
