Fusible Resistor

    Hi All,
Somehow the transformer module supplying 12 volt lights in my
bathroom blew the other day. I think the reason is because of a
Fusible resistor that went (see picture attached). So anyways I
can't seem to figure out what size it is and then where to get one.

    So what I'm wondering is
o is the image a Fusible Resistor or something else?
o what value / tollerence level is it?
o where can I get one?
o Is this a lost cause?

    thanks,
    Derek.

i have never come across fusible resistor, maybe there is , i have never seen one . any how , id be incline to tell u to replace the unit there not that expensive.

but if you want to give it a go.
. the picture just shows a resistor with damage
. the value if the first color is brown <its hard to see> 1omh
    . tolerance +-5

if first color is red its 2omh +-5

you will get them in peats/radionics places like that

    Thanks the colors are

    brown, black, gold, gold, white

All of the other resistors on the board are labeled R1, R2, R3 ....

    this one is labeled RF

Your are correct in saying it is a Fusible Resistor.
    its value is 1ohm 1 watt +/-5%
not sure where you would pick one up.
they are for overload protection and normallly blow over the course of say
30 seconds if to much current is been drawn across them.

i'd have to agree with steifanc and replace the whole unit if they are cheap,
    its blowing for a reason:confused:

The unit didn't blow over 30 seconds, I heard it blow imediatly after
changing a bulb and turning it on. Ye are probably right I think I'll
just see if I can replace it incase there is another fault that caused
    the problem
