Really sad news. DCU student and Olympic bronze medalist Darren Sutherland was found dead in his London apartment this afternoon.

You may remember he made his pro debut in the DCU gym only a few months ago.

    RIP :(

This is very sad news. Never, ever nice to hear of a student's passing, especially one with a potentially good career like Sutherland. Massive shame.

Jesus, that's shocking. He always seemed like a genuinely nice down to earth guy anytime I met him.

Depression, the usual cause of suicide. He had admitted to being very lonely in London. Only a few days before his death he broke down and admitted how he had been feeling to his trainer.

It's incredible sad, hard to beleive
