Apologies if this has already been covered in a thread, but I am trying to access my own WIFI network on my iPhone. It prompts me for the password, which I input, but then I am told 'Unable to join the network'

It's the correct password, so I have no idea what to do

    Any suggestions welcome

    Cheers

double check the password, there is a slight problem in that the software that is auto-capitalizes the first letter which will mess up the password,
either turn off auto-caps in setings, or manually make it lower case when entering

the letters are all upper case which I have taken care to enter and yet still cannot connect. Have rung Apple, O2 and Smart Telecom, they are all baffled ! So frustrating !

Disable encryption on the router and see if you can connect then.
If so, what kind of encryption are you using? Does it work better if you switch to another kind?

Try it in all small case then, sometimes it's not meant to be UPPER even though it's printed that way (Eircom's new routers for example).

Try inputting your WEP# instead of your password.

I am not the most technically gifted, but I was told by my ISP that the password IS the WEP or WPA which is at the base of my router

will try again using lower case

not working for lower case either...

going to try disable the encryption and try that

Is it possible that MAC address filtering is enabled on the router? Have you ever had trouble connecting new devices before?

    Hi,
Has your iphone worked on your network before? My phone (relatively new) stopped detecting my home network and any network about a week ago:confused:

There is a large discussion about this
    here
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2044754&tstart=0

So it might be a hardware fault.
