Purchased a Cannondale with Ultegra 53-39T on the front the original was 50-34T, because where I live is on a fecking hill to get home from a spin I have to climb Everest would I be better off putting on the original.

    Please forgive my ignorance.

My eloquent answer is, 'yes put the 34/50 back on'.

Keep the 53/39 and in a year or two when you start racing you can put it back on again!

I'm new to all this cycling lark so just trying to put up miles with the son at the moment, purchased a MTB, but the hills are hell so went off again and purchased the cannondale but found when I took the sons trek out the gearing was much better. Can't fault the cannondale but the rider just isn't fit.
