Hi all, I'm a BComm grad (UCD) who didn't specialise in accountancy in year 3. Was wondering if I qualify from any Cap 1 exemptions? I can't figure out the corresponding table as I'm not sure if I have to have studied each module listed to be exempt from the first exam. Maybe someone could clarify?

    Thanks guys

Yeah, you need to have studied all of the modules listed to gain an exemption eg. to gain an exemption from finance you need to have taken Corporate Finance, Management Accounting and Financial Accounting 1.

I didnt specialise in Accounting and got no exemptions. However what you should always do is apply for ALL exemptions. The worse that can happen is that they say no! And in fact some of my mates who have started last year got an exemption from Finance for CAP 1 based entirely on 2nd Comm Finance and nothing else!

APPLY FOR EXEMPTIONS IN ALL SUBJECTS!

U obviusly didnt specialise in accoutnancy becasue you found other subjects more intresting, i would recommend you pursue what you enjoy rather than do something ur not obviouly that keen on!!!

Thats my advice to you and as i also did B comm- u have to Accountancy route to get full exemptions!!
