    Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone knows anywhere that will insure a Civic Type R (RN2 -current shape) - I can't seem to get a quote anywhere online anywhere bar that lot with the 4k excess...

    30, with 7 years NCB...

Most online insurance sites wont give a quote for such a car, you have to phone them up.* If your 30 and 7 yrs NCB, most companies should give you a quote.

Just had a quick look at insure123 and they have Honda Civic Type R in their dropdown list, but I didn't go as far as submitting the form, so I don't know if they will quote you or not. Worth a look though.

I had the same problem with my car. Far easier to just give them a call. You spend 10 minutes filling in the form to be told that 'we cannot quote you at this time'

I got a quote through bestquote I think, giving me insurance with a hooooooge excess. The company that provided it for them was xs insurance... apt name :D:D

XS Direct are the ones he was referring to above, I stand to be corrected on this but I'm sure I read somewhere that other Insurance companies don't accept NCB from these guys

I'm insured with XS Direct, but my excess is only €1000.

You can reduce down the excess by paying extra, if I was you I would ring
them directly, I got fed a lot of crap from brokers about them before I rang up.

I haven't moved to another company yet, so not too sure on wheter or not
other insurance companies will accept their no-claims.
I did have no problem using it to get a classic policy, but I imagine there should
be no problem, a lot of people would repair 2 - 4k of damage instead of claiming
from the insurance so as to preserve the no claims, there's no difference in that....

Hmm, just tried insure.ie there - hadn't tried them up to now, and they've given me 3 quotes in or around €950 - not too bad at all, I suppose.

Did you try a broker? I let them do the hardwork (for a small annual fee) and saved a fortune

You better go for integra or accord type-R m8. Alot easyer to insure.

Civic are just on top of black list.
