Before you read on, this is ONLY for return flights FROM the UK to Ireland, but I'm posting it in case you have friends/family in the UK who have been mulling over a trip to our great courses!

Aer Lingus are about to offer a special golf deal on flights to Ireland, for flights between October and March 2010. They're waiving the 'sports equipment' cost of golf clubs, which is worth something like £50.

This offer kicks off tomorrow (15/9/09), on the website, and lasts for just one week. Flights from the UK come to Belfast, Cork, Dublin and Shannon. I was asked to get some of Ireland's best, and best value, golf courses involved in this promotion, all local to the airports. Each of the 24 clubs is offering special green fee rates to visitors showing their boarding pass. These can be booked at any time (subject to availability) for golf between Oct and March.

There are 30 courses in all, so pass it on:
    Adare
    Ballybunion (2 courses)
    Beech Park
    Carton House (2 courses)
    Charleville
    Clandeboye (2 courses)
    Concra Wood
    Cork
    Dromoland Castle
    Druid's Glen
    Druid's Heath
    The European
    Fota Island
    Headfort (2 courses)
    The Island
    Killarney (3 courses)
    Lee Valley
    Lisburn
    Naas
    PGA Palmerstown
    Portmarnock
    Scrabo
    Shandon Park
    Shannon

Could I buy a flight for a penny and print of my boarding card and just book a round of golf cheaply?

Tis OK, easy mistake to make :)

The deal sounds very good alright, I shall inform some golfing friends of mine in Britain.
