Limerick SHC: Murroe oust 'Well in massive upset

    14 September 2009

Murroe-Boher caused a huge upset in their Limerick SHC quarter-final joust with Patrickswell at the Gaelic Grounds yesterday when they powered to a 1-17 to 0-11 victory.

If anything, the final scoreline flattered the once mighty 'Well, who were fortunate to find themselves just five points adrift, 0-4 to 0-9, at half-time after Murroe-Boher hit nine wides.

The introduction of former county star Ciaran Carey, who was unable to start due to a hand injury, injected new life into Patrickswell in the second half, but every time they narrowed the gap, Murroe invariably hit back with scores from Kevin Tobin. Just four points separated the sides when the underdogs produced a stirring finish, which included an insurance goal from Michael Ryan.

In the second quarter-final at the Gaelic Grounds, three-in-a-row chasing Adare defeated Doon by 2-16 to 2-11.

    Something small but sure...

Heared a rumor that Stephen Lucey got a bad injury playing with Croom?Apparently its very bad and he probably wont be able to play football or hurling again?

Anyone else hear this? It would be awful If true.
