So, I know of this lake see, it's all very hush hush you understand :D And it's consistently had a few ducks on it year after year going back a good time. The thing about it is there is absolutely no cover anywhere around it, nada, couldn't hide an Ethiopian whippet around it.

I was generously loaned a Goose & Duck shooting & calling DVD, and on that they were using these type blinds on stubble fields in the USA, and to very good effect too.

I had one of those impulsive moments :o And ordered something similar to >this<

I think they look a good job and will work a treat once I get used to it. I was wondering if anyone on here had ever made use of one?

    ATB,

    John

Gas man, looks like a coffin! :D
All jokes aside could & hope it works. Saw em on youtube or dvd as well before & the lads were droppin em no problem. I cant shoot for s**t sitting down though so wouldn't appeal to me. Although would be ideal for geese where I am as they are mostly out of shottie range due to the fact the cute yokes stay in the centre of a huge field.
Where does the dog go or is the lake shallow?
If you built a sort of hide on the lake shore & fed a bit they'd pay no attention to it after a few days & land in as normal...
Let us know how you get on with it...

I don't have a dog so I'll be being careful about how and where I set up so I can retrieve any shot duck myself. There are hides for dogs as well I believe.

Be handy for ambushing greycrows in places they're not used to being shot at.

Very True, useful bit of kit if they are light enough to be carried around...

    It's arrived :D

    I like it.

    I like it a lot!

It's very roomy inside, and I'm 6'3". It's quite comfortable actually. There's a zipper pocket inside for bits and pieces. There are two openings for using flags. The doors swing out of the way very well and are height adjustable, and the mesh on the top of them is easy to see through. It folds up easily and can be carried easily as a backpack. Plenty of straps on the outside for putting grass, straw, or whatever to cammo it up further.

The only gripe I got is one of the hinges has a little rust on it. That shouldn't be on a new product. Chances of me sending it back to South Dakota? Yeah, right, lol, out with the sandpaper and paint then!

I can see a LOT of fun being had with this, ducks and greycrows beware :D

Great looking bit of gear there... I only have a nylon type car boot tidy thingy I bought in Lidl for about €6.

It's waterproof, so lying on a wet patch (of grass lads, grass :D) isn't an issue but it can be darn noisy just when you want total silence.... Might invest a bit later....
