I have Red Orchestra, played it once and turned it off fairly quickly. Is it worth getting in to then yeah?

Hey - yeah the learning curve is pretty steep - but once get into it, it's good fun as your side has to employ teamwork. Regular rifleman in RO is a one shot rifle, first click fire, second click clears the action. If getting in close bayonet is a must.

Need to have good people working in the various roles. The machine-gunner needs to be good and suppression fire, not necessarily just going for kills, and the officer has to be good with the smoke for cover and arty if available.

Vehicles are also a bit of a learning curve.

But basically the best way to play is on the 50 player servers - the game needs a lot of players in a match, otherwise it gets boring very quickly.

The darkest hour mod is basically almost a copy of band of brothers - main maps being stuff like foy, caretan etc.

Getting a bit towards end of life and RO2 is in the works - but yeah if have patience give a try - may just need to play some lesser roles initially to help learn the game. And play on a populated large server.

Not to evangelize too much, gamasutra has posted a great review: http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=25455 - if anyone is interested in playing we should start up a thread or something
