Should I purchase the new theory test book?

Here's the situation, I bought the theory book in April and unfortunately a new book came out in May. I see that 10% of the questions have been changed in the new book.

Would I need to get the new book or could I get by with the older one?

    I got the new one.
They keep warning that it's the new version you need to have studied.

New book/CD: about €30 (can't remember is that each, think it's about 20 each or 30 the set)
Re-sitting the test: €36 + having to buy the new book anyway

It's a gamble, like everything else in life. I'd go ahead and get the new one, but it's up to you.

Is there anywhere i can download the questions and test myself at home before I go in?

Definitely recommend getting the cd version rather than the book, you get a better idea of the progress you`re making and one way or the other the questions and answers start to look very familiar very quickly. Plus the mock theory tests themselves give you a good idea of what to expect and probably make the test itself seem a lot more comfortable and familiar when you go to take the real one.Hope that helps.

Please forgive my ignorance but if I fail the first theory test, I can re-sit (and thereafter as many times as need be) but I have to pay again each time? Crikey. I hope I pass the first one.

You should be able to get the book & CD Rom from your local library for free - that's what I did.
