11850 ad

Anyone seen the latest 11850 ad?

You see a couple standing in an elevator, when the doors open the two tracksuited 118 and 50 men appear and hand a mobile phone to the guy in the lift.

When the phone is handed to the guy, 3 words are shown on the screen - restaurants, chemists, hotels.

So is this deliberate by the ad makers or what? Restaurant for a meal, chemist to buy condoms, then back to a hotel room?

There are two versions of that ad, one with the bloke getting the phone and the other has the woman getting the phone, where one of her options is to do with marriage.

And yes OP, you are right to think it is meant to mean what you thought.

They should make a new ad, that is more appropriate for the Irish audience, 3 words should be: chipper, shop, car.

Chipper for a 'meal', shop for a packet of tayto (a tayto bag is cheaper than a condom), then back of the car "for some of that sweet monkey love.";)

Not sure if that's the same "making of" thing they were showing on TV3 with the advertising people spouting shìte about re-imagining the characters, then re-imagining them again and again. And then they're in the ad for about a second.

That's the one. Was it out of synch when TV3 showed it too or are they just incapable of making a video file properly in that advertising firm?

I think the latter. But it was done in that "edgy/bad quality" way that behind the scenes documentaries are done in, so it's hard to tell. I can't see the above video, so can't compare, I'm afraid.
