Phimosis and getting rid of it.

    Well, hello gent's.

I don't believe I have ever posted here actually but here goes.

I have had Phimosis my whole life, I am not 20, and for my first time EVER today I have seen my whole Bell end. I know this is a strange thing to start a thread about but just 3 weeks ago it was too painful to pull back the foreskin more than 3 mm's and now I can see the whole Bell End when flacid with no pain, and I am getting there when I have an erection.

I think in another 2 weeks I should be fine.

I do have a question though. Since I have never had an exposed bell-end it is now very sensitive, when I pulled it back for the first time fully, not 1 hour ago I could feel the cold around the rim. How can I toughen it up so to speak without any pain, as I am now very conscious of not holding the tip of my penis.

Also, while i have had sex without condom's, my foreskin has never pulled back far enough to expose, now that it is it leave my frenulum (Banjo string) wide open to breaking.

How painful is this? And Just in case it does happen soon, will it hurt, do I have to go to the hospital for it.

I did a search I am not sure if this has been discussed before though so sorry if it has.

Thanks for any replies, as ye may be able to tell I am quite happy about this, even though I am not fully there yet, I have always been very conscious of my penis around females as I thought it looked odd (Damn pron giving me false perceptions.) And Now it is nearly "Normal".

    Thanks,
    Mini.

Well your banjo string isnt supposed to break mate and if it did there would be alot of blood and not a small amount of pain.

    Have you thought about circumcision?

There is a sticky at the top of this forum with alot of very good advice in it.

It also might not be any harm to go and get a proper examination from your GP because every bloke would have different experiences so alot of the advice here would be on an individual basis and may not be the best course of action for yourself.

    Thanks,

I know a guy who had it snap. Texas chainsaw massacre time apparently. Oh how we laughed when he told us. A mixture of it being funny and leg crossingly worrying.:) It only happened the once for him though. I knew another guy whose banjo needed a small operation because it was too short. His experience was that full circumcision was the default option from the docs he dealt with, but he read up on it and decided he didn't want to go down that route.

Listening to him got me thinking and I will admit I was quite anti circumcision, but people here on various threads changed some my thinking I must say and now I would be more in the middle.

I would still be anti in the sense that I wouldn't consider it the first option that it seems to be for many. It seems to be considered somehow not a big deal. Go straight to it without trying other options. If you have a banjo string issue I don't see why going for the full snip makes sense. Seems to be a bit like having a gangrenous finger and amputating the whole arm.

I would be of the opinion that a fully functional foreskin is an important part of the penile anatomy and preserving that must be a good thing. Of course fully functional is the important bit. If the phimosis is extreme and intractable or something like diabetes causes scarring to build up, then yes circumcision is obviously the best bet there.

I just feel it's sometimes jumped on too quickly in less extreme cases. minidazzler seems to have stretched it naturally to the point where it's getting more and more functional so removing it seems as a suggestion extreme.

As a slight aside and the medical chaps and chapesses would be the best bet for a professional explanation, why would stretching not work for more men with this? It seems the stretchiest(technical term:)) skin on the body to start with. I recall watching a programme about some of the early work on plastic surgery after WW1 and especially during WW2. Fascinating stuff and some medical serious minds applied themselves to it. One thing I recall was when patients who had extensive tissue damage(burns etc) and little enough good skin to harvest for transplant, the doctors inserted balloons basically under the good skin, which were inflated over time and the skin grew to a size suitable for harvesting. Now that's "normal" skin for want for a better word. So if that can grow and stretch why couldn't something along those lines be applied to the foreskin? I would imagine it's a slow process, but that may negate the need for circumcision in many men who weren't extreme. I don't know how it would be practically done, but I'd imagine if tomorrow circumcision was outlawed for some reason, then I'm sure someone would come up with a solution.

On a personal front, I have noticed in relationships where we were using condoms over time my foreskin became less mobile. Not phimotic(?:o) as such, but less mobile. Certainly I noticed this when I then went into a relationship where condoms weren't used, or when my existing girlfriend went on contraception. There was more motion applied to the skin of the oul chap overall, not just in the foreskin. Noticed it a little in the banjo string too. It took a few weeks I'd say for my skin to adapt, but adapt it did.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

    Congratulations!

Sounds like you have no need for GP, circumcision or any of that. Just keep up the streches and it should work out fine, did for me.

The sensitivity will get better with time, just get used to touching your helmet with your hands, against fabric etc. Eventually you could try leaving the foreskin retracted while showering. Make sure you can do all this before getting head with it peeled :)

    Good luck and have fun!

Hi guys, sorry to drag this up again. But tonight was my first time getting an erection with the foreskin pulled past the bell end.

I cheated by being flaccid first.

Anyway, my question is, how tight is the frenulum (Banjo string) supposed to be? Mine seems to be VERY tight, not that it's bending my bell end forward, but just very tight. My Body didn't seem to want to let Mini junior get to Full Mast because of the tightness.

I ended up just pulling the collar back up, as it would be quite embarrassing to break the banjo string when I am not even having sex!!!:P

So how tight is it supposed to be?

hey man i was in your shoes a while back, i couldn't pull my foreskin back at all, i heard of devices to stretch the skin around the bell end as you say but i wasn't too interested in that i wanted a quick fix. i ended up gettin a circumcision and i was the best thing i coulda done i didnt have concerns about the foreskin being tight or breaking my banjo and my sex life returned to normal. it may not be for everyone but but the circumcision sorted me out it was painless and reduced the risk of cancer and infections so a win all round id say.

    miniD

no one here can tell you how tight it's meant to be. It realy depends on what size you are, the size differences between erect and flaccid and some other variables. For a real and proper opinion your best off going and seeing a doctor. A GP will be able to refer you onto the correct specialist (in most cases a urologist).

Check out the circumcision thread too, lots of healpful advice there dude.
