    hi
i worked in a bank, the teller may have just put a description on the lodgement thats all!it doesn't mean anything, sometimes people ask for a description to be put on a lodgement so when they are looking at their
statements they will know exactly what it is.

Thanks kaka24 this sounds great, can you ask them to put anything in instead of the lodgement number?

yep,you can ask them to put anythin you like in the description box
theres space for about 20 or so letters, its handy for when your looking back on your statements from months ago!

Depends on the bank and branch. Some banks won't include references on personal account lodgements. The 123456 most likely is the serial number on the lodgement docket you used.
