The best one I've used is the Halifax Visa debit card, all you have to do is open an account there and that's it. Other than that, the best I've used is www.wirecard.com.

I don't want to open a bank account or anything like that.

Well you'll have to open some kind of account with your details on it. You may as well open a Halifax account if you can. Definitely the best way I've found of using a Visa debit. You pretty much go in with cash, deposit and it goes straight on your card and can be used online immediately. Other people can also deposit to your account which is handy too.

www.payzonemoney.ie - a prepaid Mastercard that can be used online and in shops, as well as ATMs. No bank account required - you 'load' the card with money in selected Payzone shops.

However, the card itself costs €6 to buy and there is a fee to load money on your card (e.g. if loading €100 onto card it will cost you €103.50 in cash).

Quite a timely question as a new prepaid Mastercard launched in Ireland last week....

It is called rubycard you can find details here

I have no affiliation with them but have been doing some research on it for a blog post on my site.

This subject was only covered two weeks ago.

There are a couple of options. Check out www.payzonemoney.ie

You go online or into a payzone agent, (spar, londis centra etc etc), buy the card for 6 quid and away you go. You can put money onto it in the shops or online and then use as any debit/creditcard.

The payzone card can also be used at ATM machines to take money out just like any bank card.

    DECLARATION OF INTEREST.

I own a shop but which one is irrelevant, my info is just for the OPs benefit.
