Bought a ds-lite at gamestop last christmas .Just wondering where i stand without a receipt .Nintendo are looking for proof of purchase as well? I don't think i paid by credit card

Where did you buy it? If you have a problem you'll probably have to deal with the retailer.

Do you have the box?

no box.i knew the shop would want receipt but i thought nintendo would work off the serial number

I had an issue with a Sony product last year. I had no receipt but I had the box and they (the shop) were happy with that.

During my shenanigans I went to the Dept of Consumer Affairs. I was advised that I had to deal with the retailer in Ireland and not Sony Europe. That might help you somewhat?

Depending on your problem it might be worth your while checking things out with the Dept of Consumer Affairs........you'd be amazed at how you are protected.
