trooperstown wood camping

    hello,i used too go camping up in trooperstown wood in the wicklow mtns and im wondering if you can still camp there or not? have tried ringing about 6 numbers and they are all mon-fri,any help would be great even any recomendations for off-site camping in the wicklow area

    I'm not sure about Trooperstown, but you can camp in Glenmalure, for sure. I've never seen anyone camping in Trooperstown, but I wouldn't say there'd be a problem as long as you don't make a mess or go starting fires.

    I regularily see people camping at Trooperstown - I presume you mean the grassy areas beside the river across from the car park. So it is still a popular option, but wether you have to book in advance I don't know.

    update for the upcoming season,was in trooperstown and by law you are not allowed to camp there,but was plenty of signs of recent camping.

    anyone have any other spots that are safe to bring the family,really love trooperstown wood,was a lovely spot a few years ago but now seems filthy and full of non-desirables.
