Let's write a letter

Following from this post, it is one of the better ideas I have seen about Lisbon. My particular thoughts on the issue are unimportant. What we do need is TD's that can actually realise they are probably accounting for 20%* of the no vote. The Spite Vote.

People are unhappy and angry. Lets do something about it. No Leftist/Socialist/Sinn Fein propaganda. Just send a message that says we're not taking it anymore. You are destroying everything I care about. You are destroying my career. You are destroying my relationships with the unneccessary burdeon of worry and doubt on my shoulders. You are destroying my neighbours future. You are destroying my future. You are destroying our childrens future.

I say, lets do it. Lets write to every FF/GP TD and let them know how we feel. I would personally lean on the greens and say if they don't dissolve this corrupt government, their party and all they stand for is in tatters.

Maybe a wordsmith here could put what needs to be said more succinctly than I ever could. We should use the same letter, put your signature on it and send. Tell all your friends, tell all those on the fence, tell all those voting Yes and tell all those voting No out of spite.

I suggest we send our letters en masse on Tuesday the 22nd September. It gives us ten days to spread the word and all the letters will arrive by the Friday before the election at the latest.

*Purely an assumption, accurate figures are hard to come by.

    Fantasy land.

Referenda have nothing to do with party politics. The different parties may choose a side, but the performance of a party has no impact on the question being asked.

Anyone who thinks otherwise needs a swift kick in the nether regions to make them see sense.

See sense? you mean tow the FF line.

Referenda has everything to do with party politics when the party in power( that are supposed to represent the majority of the citizens) is in support of a treaty that most of the said majority of citizens who they represent(supposedly) are against said treaty.

If you no longer represented the majority and no longer hold the same interests as the majority then you should not be in power.

After the recent opinion poll, If FF were really looking out for the interests of the people and not themselves they should have disbanded the government and called a general election as it is clearly the will of the people.

And before you argue that the other parties couldn't do any better its up to the citizens of Ireland as whether or not they get a chance to try, NOT FF.

FF need to realize that the will of the people should come before their own interests and agendas. And they need to stop trying to dress up their own agenda as the will of people. The opinion polls speak for themselves!

If the government had done its job properly then they'd have no argument as to whether people understood Lisbon on the first vote(a lot more people, than the government give credit for, did understand the first time around) and the people's understanding of Lisbon couldn't be questioned. What are the government going to say if/when Lisbon 2(The democratic mockery) comes back as a no vote? Will they disband then as clearly their interests differ from the people they supposedly represent?
