I don't see a problem here, how will your insurance company know if you have your phone unlocked or not?

Problem is that it is hardly worth claiming the house insurance for it.

Any ideas for a stand alone insurance policy I could use.

Ehh what? You lose you phone whatever way. To get a new one will cost you over €600. I think that warrants claiming house insurance.

Im with FBD have my contents insured. Put iPhone on it as a special item for about €45..and yes it has all the bells and whistle you get with the ones of 02 and CP.

The problem is that the will charge more for insurance if you had a claim in the previous 3 years. Also in the pasy while the excess has been increasing.

I do not have the policy with FBD so I will have a look at them next time I am getting house insurance.

My wife's nokia was damaged last year and when we looked into it, it was not worth claiming as the increase insurance over the next few years compared with the excess.

Carphone Warehouse have a special iPhone insurance policy. Can get it for phones not bought there.
