Nah they played here before-I supported them in the Red Box ages ago. They were quite good, naturally finishing with Acperience

Think I was at that - would have been around Oct/Nov 2000?

I'd say they were good alright, massive discography listed on Discogs.
Ya seemed to have shared the wheels of steel with many big names Francois, who impressed ya the most out of them all ?

Off topic but still a bump for the gig :)

    Hardfloor (LIVE)

    www.hardfloor.de
    www.myspace.com/hardfloor

Acid, House and Techno changed the landscape of the German music scene ever since the end of the eighties. Producer Ramon Zenker and DJ Oliver Bondzio were ahead of this new movement right from the start. In 1991 they formed Hardfloor and had their first success with the release on the well-known label Eye Q. Only a few months later Hardfloor released their Hardtrance Acperience EP on Sven Vaths cult status label Harthouse. This EP made them famous for their innovative sound far beyond European boundaries, the song Acperience 1, which even made its way into the UK charts, is still one of the milestones of Techno culture.

Only one year later the first long player TB Resuscitation was released, followed by other great and successful Albums such as Respect (1994), Homerun (1996), Best of Hardfloor (1997) and All Targets Down (1998). In 1998 the popular label K7 released their tenth X-Mix-Compilation called Jack The Box. K7 managed to persuade Hardfloor to do the track listing and mixing of this album. On this compilation Oliver and Ramon present tracks that have influenced them the most, especially sound wise. This sound is called Acid House and the instrument that comes to mind immediately is the TB 303 built by Roland. The TB 303 is the centre of the Hardfloor Sound, butbreakbeats and Trip-Hop elements spice up the audio experience of Hardfloor, finally resulting in the separate project called: dadamnphreaknoizephunk.

Apart from working as producers Hardfloor are very requested remixers for international pop acts in the likes of Depeche Mode, Mike Oldfield, New Order, Human League, Mory Kante and Anne Clark, as well as more underground style techno acts like Robert Armani, Secret Cinema, A Guy Called Gerald or the Rising High Collective. After a slightly longer break in which Oliver and Ramon produced the two dadamnphreaknoizphunk albums Take Off Da Hot Sweater and Lost & Found, hardfloor founded their own label in 2003: www.hardfloor.de.

Since then www.hardfloor.de released: HF001 Alphabetical, HF002 Da Revival(licensed and remixed by Brique Rouge for France), HF 003 Soulful Spirit, HF004 Murano as well as the exclusive Japan 12 HFXX Acid Energy. Now, the present 12 HF005 Groupie Love is out in stores. This is the first appetizer for their forthcoming new album 4 Out Of 5 Aliens Recommend This. The duos 6th long player contains exclusively new and unreleased material. The album features a wide range of tracks varying from the trippy Cube 2, the deep Lost Souls, the groovy Groupie Love to club burners like Who is Jack? and T2daC, as well as Who Spend Money on Candygirls and Chocolatechips?, a downbeat acid track in the style of dadamnphreaknoizephunk. They have recently been remixed by E.R.P. and their live show continues to rock hard across the globe - their last appearance in Dublin at Electric Shock in 2007 blew the roof off the TBMC. The perfect blend of old and new - timeless music not defined by it's year of production of Beatport release date - Hardfloor - techno heroes.

    Like-A-Tim

    www.likeatim.com
    www.myspace.com/likeatim

Like a Tim is Netherlands-based electronica deviant Tim van Leijden, whose idiot-(s)avant-garde abusements of hip-hop and techno have appeared mostly on the D-Jax label & his own Like Records imprint. Leijden's surprisingly listenable beat-hiccups are similar in some respects to artists such as Atom Heart and Patrick Pulsinger, but with a typically stronger, more minimal hip-hop foundation (Mantronix, Schooly D) which those artists often trade out. Following a high-profile remix session for countrymate Speedy J's major label debut ("Ni Go Snix," released by Mute in early 1997), Leijden was roped in by Cornwall-based acid/electronica label Rephlex to give a few tracks the Like a Tim makeover. Leijden is also a gifted graffiti artist (his visual style equally as idiosyncratic as his musical), and his illustrations grace the labels and sleeves of most of his releases. He returned in 2000 with Red and Blue Boxing and since then has continued to release regular acid missiles on his Like Records label and Dutch labels such as Clone & DUB. His most recent release 'Troost' has been picked up by many of the new school of European DJs as his timeless and unique take on the acid sound continues to win new fans. After almost 20 years of recording and releasing, this will be Tim's first visit to Ireland and we are looking forward to have him rock the 303 boxes in the basement of Twisted Pepper

    Americhord

    www.americhord.com
    www.myspace.com/americhord

Americhord is the electronic project of Maura O'Boyle, who has been a resident DJ in Dublin clubs such as Phunk City, Static and Bleep. O'Boyle's music first appeared under the Mcut moniker on the Law & Auder and Front End Synthetics labels, and with Americhord, she sheer steers a path from techno through electro to electronica. Her mostrecent releases have seen the light of vinyl on D1 Recordings while last year she turned in a killer remix of Marco Bernardi. Americhord has been performing live shows for Electric Shock (nee City) since the 13 November 2003 so this will be almost our 6th Anniversary together. It's been a pleasure every step of the way.

    Niall Power

    www.electric-circus.net
    www.myspace.com/ecclubsite

Niall, our friend from the south - main man in Waterford and mainstay of the Electric Circus nights. Niall is one of our nearest and dearest and we've done many a gig swap through the years at Electric Circus down in Waterford. Aside from the EC residents, he's put on some of the biggest names in techno including Dave Clarke & Green Velvet but always backing those names up by going out on a limb for introducing Transparent Sound, Mike Grant and other more leftfield names to the Waterford massive.

    Barry Donovan

    www.lunardisko.com
    www.myspace.com/lunardisko

The Shandon [nee East Wall] Lover, Barry (O) Donovan, Lunar Disko partner in crime, he is 50% responsible for introducing the sounds of Mr. Pauli, I-G, Sneakthief, Raiders of the Lost Arp and many more to Dublin audiences. Despite an unhealthy affinity with Liverpool's number 9, he's still one of our favourite DJs.

    Simon Conway & Giles Armstrong

Electric Shock residents and promoters. Upstairs (Giles) / downstairs (Simon) on the night. The Clondalkin-Wroclaw axis have been regularly involved with DEAF since it's early years, delighted to be a part in 2009 with a showcase set at Twisted Pepper with some of their favourite international and Irish producers and DJs joining them on the night.

    Yo,

Our "DEAF meets Hallow'een" Uptown Top Ranking on closing npiagrthyt is just a few days away. It has been an impressive DEAF this year well the two party's we caught were anyway so thanks to Earwiggle and the lovely Lunars for them and great feedback from across the city on the myriad events a g'wan.

Tickets are selling really well for this Saturday and we are not that surprised either as they are only a tenner..10 Euro?! that's 2.50 for each of Hardfloor. 2.50 for Like a Tim and 2.50 for the rest of the boyizzz split across 3 floors of fancy dress and acid house mayhem. That is less than half of any of our previous Tivoli shocks. Viva la recession!
