    Folks,
I am interested in refining a simple design and then getting a prototype made up. it is a plastic part which should not cost more than 15euro.
Are there any companies you guys know of that work with someone to finalise the design (non-technical, more from an aesthetics point of view) and then create the prototype? And also what cost would be involved?
As i mentioned above its a small non-intricate plastic part that would not cost more than 15euro in the shops
    Thanks

well if its a simple prototype you could start with making one in your shed, get a dremmel and a c-clamp. And knock one up. Then you can see any unforseen structural problems that might arise before taking it to a professional. I could recommend a freelance industrial designer who would be happy to assist with drawings or aesthetic advice. Ill pm a number if you want

Im a design engineer and work on plastic desin from time to time - getting plastic prototypes done is easy. But can be quite costly... There are companies out there that can look after all this for you - pm if you want more details or guidance?

Check out the 3D printing opensource project.

Very interesting for exactly what you are looking at!
Maybe contact one of the people involved to see if they'll "print" your design?

In terms of the aesthetic side, maybe contact NCAD for some up and coming designers who could do it for a nixer?

    Hi Sul02
I've just seen your post, i'm involved in a company that specialise in product development and sourcing. We can easliy bring your prototype from it's current stage to full production usually off shore but depending on unit price and quaility. We also offer a prototyping service that is the most competitive on the market. PM me if you want to discuss this further.
