Irish Broadband charging me for a non service

    Hi

I just terminated my contract with Irish broadband as of 7/09/09 and yet i got a credit card bill off them for 28euro on 9/9/09. I just got off their customer service who said that only a certain supervisor can suitably tell me why i have been charged for this complete lack of service. But the twat on the other end said that the supervisor in question was not at work today, that he would call me back on Monday apparently. He couldn't even tell me the supervisors name or email address due to 'procedure'. Legally speaking what can i do to get the 28euro back?

Whatever idiot you were talking to on the phone was talking balls. Used to work for IBB and I can tell you that not revealing charges isn't procedure... more likely it's a CS rep who was originally with Imagine and isn't trained properly in how to use IBB's customer management system.... used to get alot of that in there.

Call them back and try talking to somebody else... there are still loads of friendly and helpful people who still work there you will eventually talk to someone who knows what the feck they're doing. I suspect the charge is probably because you ended the service before the term of your contract was up and you were charged another month's service as stipulated in their minimum subscription clause.

For the record it was the broadband in a box product and i had the contract for more than the required 12 months needed to cancel the contract. Is there anything i can do to get my money back? Should i ring in again with the same story?

I'd say call them again with the same story and say that the previous person you were talking to was useless. If it's a credit card repair they can put it back onto the card within 24 hours with their management system.

If ya don't get any help ask for a manager and be persistant but not rude and try to remain calm even if you are pissed off. If you're really nice in this world to be people they're usually more inclined to help ;-)
