GALA ALL IRELAND SENIOR CAMOGIE FINAL, CORK V KILKENNY, CROKE PARK, SUNDAY 2.45PM
Cork are the form team in this novel pairing, having topped their group. Their midfield engine of Briege Corkery and Orla Cotter will prove crucial and if this young Kilkenny side is to cause a shock they will have to at least break even here.
Don't rule out the Cats though. They are not concerned about Rebel tradition or history and following their hurling victory last Sunday, momentum will be high. Along with their U21's they will bring big support.
    Verdict: Cork

    Cork: A Murray; J O'Callaghan, C Foley, R Buckley; J Duffy, M O'Connor, S Hayes; B Corkery, O Cotter; E O'Sullivan, G O'Connor, U O'Donoghue; S Burns, E O'Farrell, R Moloney.

    Kilkenny: C Ryan; L Fennelly, C Doherty, J Frisby; L Lyng, A Butler, E Aylward; C Dormer, A Dalton (Capt); T Muldowney, K Power, E Keane; M Quilty, D Gaule, A Neary.

GALA ALL IRELAND JUNIOR CAMOGIE FINAL, OFFALY V WATERFORD, CROKE PARK, SUNDAY 12.45PM
This junior decider promises to be a cracking contest. Offaly, after being sensationally denied by a last minute goal 12 months ago are back to complete the job. They look good again, but they will be conscious that their only defeat this year came at the hands of Waterford.
The Déise are in Croke Park for the first time, and will travel full of confidence. They lost out to the Faithful County at the penultimate stage last year, so too, they will be keen to atone.
    Verdict: Offaly

    Offaly: A Kennedy; K Brady, L Keena, F Stephens; L Sullivan, M Crean (Capt), S Sullivan; K Nugent, M Morkan; A Kelly, T Hannon, M Davis; S Flannery, E Darmody, A Watkins.

    Waterford: A O'Brien; V Gaffney, S O'Grady (Capt), K M Hearne; G Kenneally, M O'Donnell, S Kiernan; M Murphy, C Raher; S Curran, Á Lyng, N Morrissey; P Jackman, K Kelly, Á Breathnach.

Should be a cracking AI final - the Cork girls into their 8th AI final in a row, Kilkenny back for the first time since 01.

Corkery and Cotter cited above as influential Cork players. To those of us not in the know, rebel girl 15, who should we look out for strong performance on the Kilkenny side?

Ann Dalton - midfield, Elaine Aylward - half back and Anna Neary, the KK top scorer are probably three to watch. Alyward caused Galway quite a bit of trouble with her runs coming forward. The KK girls have huge spirit - the way they came back against Galway was unbelieveable, two points down with injury time to go, and win by two.

Briege Corkery single handedly drove Cork into the final - Rachel Moloney is Cork's top scorer. And the Cork captain Amanda O Regan can't win her place on the team!

Just a few interesting links about it

It would be brilliant for them to win it this year, after the heartbreak of last year!

yea its great to see the offaly girls back again this year, they already lost to Waterford this year but have since upped their game, which was clear from the game against meath.

it'll be a cracker of a game with waterford having some very strong players but hopefully the faithful will bring home the silverware after the pain of last year. First time i ever cried at a match!!!!

Could be a very big year for Cork if all their teams win their respective finals. Am I right in thinking some of the girls play on both the camogie and football team?

Could someone please tell Marty how to pronounce kilkenny club names. He's annoying the feck out of me with his butchering.

as tracy said at half time the final is really tit for tat
nip and tuck all the way to the final whistle i'd say
cork lead 09-05 31 mins gone

How the hell was that ball called as a wide by Kilkenny? There could only have been 3 outcomes there. 2 of them were frees to Kilkenny and the other a 45. The standard of umpiring at intercounty level this year has been diabolical!

Standard of the referee and umpires at that game today are a joke...

    Very poor final though.

    Why do they wear skirts?

Yeah most teams wear the skorts now. Fantastic achievement for Cork. Their men and ladies footballers will be hoping to add to the counties triumphs over the next couple of weekends.

the milf on the rte panel was a bit of alright!

Bad day for kilkenny, 2 finals lost :(

I suppose the main final makes up for it though!

Yep, Rena Buckley, Mary O Connor and Briege Corkery also play with the ladies football team in two weeks time against Dublin. They'll be going for their second double double.

Four years ago, the girls did a double double, winning two AI camogie and ladies football titles in a row. There were five playing with the camogie and football at that stage. Nothing was really made of it TBH, if they were men, there would be pages in the paper about it for weeks.

That ref has a reputation for being whistle happy, and I thought at one stage, she could have given a penalty to KK, for a tackle up around the neck. But in fairness the Cork defense were excellently prepared, and Aoife Murray was is great form in goals. She ended up getting player of the match last night.

Yeah you're dead right. The media really need to give these ladies more attention and highlight their fantastic achievements, especially if they manage to beat the dubs and do another double double!

They deserve a huge amount of credit and for youngsters looking for role models, they need look no further than that group of ladies.

So a skort is shorts disguised as a skirt.

I hadn't a clue what the standard of hurling camogie was, I was too busy looking up at the skorts.

I just wanna say well done to Offaly for winning the junior final, very much deserved after last year. Very proud of how my cousin played
