Too many reasons to go into it but my wife wants to quit her job. I just need to know is this possible without losing the first 9 weeks of her JSB.

To my knowledge, no. Open to correction though. If she feels intimidated/forced out might be a different story, but if she feels its just not suiting her/doesn't like it then I would think not. You have probably done so, but take an hour to talk it out again anyway and see if it is really worth taking the risk, jobs are near impossible to find. Good luck.

I quit a job and got the dole right away back in Jan 2008.

I explained the reasons I quit (the company had essentially asked me to do something orthogonal to my own ethics code and to simple ethical business in fact) and they were grand with it.

That's back before things went tits up completely of course, but as long as she has documentation of whatever problems she is having at work (a log of bullying for example) then there should be no problem. The 9 week disqualification is the maximum. There need not be any disqualification at all.

If you leave employment without a genuine and good reason - you may be disqualified for up to nine weeks - as previous poster say's it depends on the reason though. If they must - explain the reason to the Dept - and if at all possible have backup info as well to justify it.
