ROS Registration

Hi. I have a quick question one of you folks might be able to help me with.

I'm doing a Form 11 Income tax return for an individual who has previously used an agent. I wish to ROS file this return. But the individual themselves has never registered for ROS individually although the agent has ROS filed the return on their behalf.

Does the individual need to register on ROS anew and are there now any difficulties with this given that they would already be on the system?

Or do we need to get login details from the old agent?

    Cheers for any help.

Are you registered as an agent yourself? If so, just contact revenue and have your client attached to your TAIN so you can file the return.

Other than that, the easiest way is probably just to get the client registered on ROS themselves. I'd imagine there is no issue with them being attached to the previous fella's tain, altho you could ring revenue to get that changed.

    Thanks for the reply.

I am an agent, but I'm doing this in a personal capacity for a friend and so can't use a TAIN. I guess I'll just get the person to register themselves but was concerned that there might be difficulty with this as they will already be on the ROS system.

There would be no issue with that, it would be his own digital cert he'd be getting when setting up on ROS.
