    Hey folks,
Spotted one of these on the way to work today, at-least, I think it was the same as this - it was matt black, branded with Redbull:

The reg said 45Dxxxx - anyone know the make/model of it?

    Cheers,
    Kerb

    I think it's a Dodge.

The UK reg on that vehicle in the picture shows up as:

    LAND ROVER DEFENDER 110 LWB

So I guess that's the rolling chassis taken care of. Not sure what body is planked on top though. Volvo "Sugga" had been suggested HERE and they do look similar.

That's the one in the picture, not the one the OP saw :)

Also, surely there were no land rovers yet in 1945, were there?

Thinking about it, I believe it might have had Dodge written above its front grill

Got another link to that picture? Seems to not like hot-linking

The one here in Ireland is a '44 registered truck on range rover running gear (I crawled underneath it at the Toys for Boys show in the RDS last year, and I know my 'rovers), with what was I'm pretty sure 100% certain is a Dodge army truck body....

So, that's a hell of a creative registration, considering what it is underneath.....

It's a thirty footer. Looks great at 30', and rougher the closer you get.

That's a Dodge alright; I reckon the car in the first post is a Defender dressed up to look like a Sugga.

Its a Dodge WC 54 according to the log book...;) Just like below. If I remember right, It's had an engine transplant, from the original engine to a 3.5 diesel Land rover unit.

    There isn't a 3.5 diesel - Would be either a Rover V8 or else a 2.5/2.8 TDi....

    The closest to 3.5 is a 3.6 TDV8 and there isn't a hope it's running one of those :-)

Maybe its the other one I'm thinking of then. The one that the OP is asking about does have a 3.5l engine (not sure what it is though).

That would be the rover V8 then
