Sour Grapes

I am so sick of all the sour grapes re Kilkenny that I have decided to start a thread where everyone can post their sour grapes about Kilkenny getting all the decisions, Kilkenny being a dirty team, Tommy Walsh, Brian Cody etc.
i would like to suggest to the mods that this be made a stickie and all such comments be moved here. Them we can have some genuine hurling or football debate in the other threads.
I await all the comments about being an ungracious winner but at least this will keep the rest of the forum free for proper debate.

Sunday has the potential to be another classic. If I wasnt form KK I would be backing Clare great value in the bookies.

What did Tommy Walsh do that people are giving out about?

I don't know much about hurling but I thought he had a great game on Sunday.

He had a great first 20 mins and a good season. Really his season turned around when he wasn't sent off against Galway when he could have been. He concentrated on the hurling and less on the dirty stuff which IMO he had been enaged in for far too long.

Ah we're all just jealous !! Well, look at it this way, Tipp got the lucky breaks the previous time they met Kilkenny in an All Ireland in 1991. This time it was the Cats turn, that's the way it goes, Kilkenny got the rub of the luck this time round.

Exactly, I'd agree with that, Kilkenny just got the breaks, but they also had better quality on the bench which was crucial.

Yep lets sticky this cause Kilkenny people here can't take a differing opinion.Cant be upsetting them

I love the way anything bad about kilkenny no matter how specifc it is means youre jealous about them and its all begrudgery.I've no problem admitting theyre a fantastic team and the current panel is probably the greatest ever but that doesn't mean im going to stop questioning different incidents.
I don't think theyre overall a dirty team but if I see questionable behaviour or tactics from them or any team im going to give my opinion on it and point it out. That isn't begrudgery, its common sense and people who ignore these or manage to convince themselves they never happen are just as bad if not worse then the begrudgers

Pity a few others couldn't admit this,

I don't think theyre overall a dirty team

Again I think you are in the minority
if I see questionable behaviour or tactics from them or any team im going to give my opinion on it and point it out.

I just wish people were as quick to pint the finger at other teams as they are at Kilkenny.

    Agreed!! Good post.

The reality of the situation is that people tend to say that the refs decisions favoured the winning team.

Was it a penalty? It's a tough one to call. In my opinion it was but being that I'm from Kilkenny people will say I'm biased.

Was the red card merited? Most definitely. The swing of the hurl was nowhere near the ball and was totally uncalled for. Regardless of what kind jabbing was going on between the players previously hitting someone in the chest / face with a hurl is not acceptable.

The Frees that were given: Well Kilkenny got 8 frees and Tipperary got 18. It doesn't look so one sided when you take that into consideration.
