Im with perlico at the moment with their 3mb deal with a 36GB download limit. I am aware that they can charge 3cent per mb over this. But do people who use perlico at the moment actually get charged for this?

Also when perlico users log in to their accounts on the perlico website, for the tab called 'view broadband usage' it says that this cannot be used due to technical issues. Is this the case for most people when they log in?

Works fine on my parents perlico account, as per the FAQ Perlico have been known to actively charge for cap overuse.

Thats interesting to know for my situation...i have a program on my two laptops called Bitmeter that measures the download and upload use of the internet connection..but the actual broadband usage of my modem is not available to me on the perlico website.

Do your parents ever go over the download limit?

My parents have the same package. I think they went over once (my fault), but they weren't charged for going over (I think it was only a couple of hundred MB, and was when they still had 10GB limit, but there were months when they barely used 1GB, so maybe if an account is flagged, they might take previous usage/abusage into account).

Also, the usage page online hasn't been working for them for well over a month. My Mum e-mailed them asking what was the problem, would it be fixed, but there has been no response. I'm a bit surprised at the no response, because whenever my Mum has sent a query before, there was always a quick response.

They use Netmeter to monitor usage, and it's usually relatively accurate. I've noticed some months were grossly less than what Netmeter reported, but I'd guess maybe they were having problems/outages with their monitoring system. Seems to have been more accurate over the past 6 months or so. I think Perlico only monitor the download value as well, you can be seeding torrents or uploading streams from your satellite receiver, and it won't impact your download usage.

Yeh i think its still just downright two faced..charging people 3 cent per MB over the limit and yet perlico don't provide a facility to monitor your usage. I also have a internet usage monitor on my pc but still it would be nice to have everything official on the perlico website. What a joke
