    its a fairly low clocked quad core with a decent graphics card in it

    while the 2nd one is a decent core 2 with an good graphics card in it. you'd get a much better performance bang for buck with the 2.53ghz core 2 and 4650 combination, but you can get better laptops for identical prices elsewhere.

    there is a much better graphics card in this baby, but maybe you want to do some searching on your own?


    Heres a compilation of all graphics chips in laptops, rated from the top down. Just a word of advice. The quads are lowly clocked but there would be a slight improvement in games that take significant advantage of the 4 cores, but a lot of modern games dont utilize the quad to its full potential.

    thanks for the recommendation, but for a stupid company reason i can only pay by cheque which elara.ie take.

    Also on the 2nd elara laptop, do you know if i could i could upgrade to ddr3 1066mhz from ddr2 800mhz, or how do i find out if it's compatible?
