Would be vaguely interested (seen him once before) but it's very overpriced

    What, €68.50?

This is one gig I'd seriously be interested in going to.

Any news of other gigs? He played Galway in April and was brilliant.

A bit over priced though, sixty quid in Galway, but it was worth it. I might take a wander up to see him again however.

I'm hoping to blag tickets as a birthday present.

It does seem overpriced though, his Kilmainham gig last year was only €55 :/

€68.50 for the Stadium is just taking the piss.

Whats the sound like in the venue? Is it a kip?

It wouldn't be the best to be honest. The last gig I saw there was Eddie Izzard, so that wouldn't be the best comparison for sound. Morrissey played one of his first proper solo gigs at the Stadium in '91 (The Smiths played there in '86 - when this was all fields...). I think the ticket price for this has made my mind up for me.

Thanks for that. I think he charges that bit extra because he knows he'll get away with it. In comparison i went to see Doves in the Olympia earlier this year for something like 28 euro. Its a bit of a rip off in all fairness, but as i said he knows he'll pull the crowd.

Having said that he was well worth the 58 smackers i paid to see him earlier this year. He put on a great show. He played a load of Smiths songs, started with This Charming Man and worked a good few others into the early part of the set.

I saw him there is '91 - what a dreadful gig! The band were all over the place and the venue was awful. Doing some research on it now reveals that in fact it was his first ever solo gig and the band hadn't recorded any of the material with him, which goes some way to explaining the performance. Thankfully he came back later that year and did a much improved gig in the point.

I'm hoping the venue has improved in the meantime :D Has anyone been at a gig there recently? I'm assuming standing is the best place to be?

Re price, it is crazy I know but at least its not just the Irish he's over charging - Berlin is 62e. In general I think he prices to the demand, which is fair enough. I actually feel privileged being able to go see him. I fell for the smiths hook line and sinker at 16 and to be able to go see the main man live at this stage (and playing some classic smiths tracks into the bargain) is great.
