Another Customs/legality Question

Kevlar. Specifically an Interceptor OTV vest in ACU with the kevlar inserts (minus SAPI plates) and a MICH 2000. Are there any laws surrounding the importation of kevlar armour?

In Salute, there were stands selling kevlar vests and Mk 6 helmets, but it's the importation of such vests and helmets that's preventing me from committing to buy.

    Thanks.

Epic fail. When I searched "kevlar," I had misspelled it, and no results were shown.

A search produced this thread, so question answered.

If you get it delivered expect a swift visit from several large dudes in northface jackets and their red mondeo! :p

But in all seriousness what the fudge do ya want the real inserts? To me it just wouldn't be worth the hassel, weight or overheating from them!

I know people who pay money to go to the UK to watch Man Utd play in the Premiership, when they have Sky Sports. Each to their own. ;)

It's simple really, I just want it. I don't plan on using it for general skirmishing, but for milsim.

The tyres on my new bike are kevlar lined, but I don't think I'll be getting anyone to shoot at them to test it.:p

I got a kevlar vest shipped in with no problems what so ever, no delays, nothing.

why anyone would want to wear a real kevlar vest other than to counter a serious threat of knife/syringe/firearm attack is beyond me. I wear them on a regular basis and it gets real old, real fast, hot, sweaty, smelly. Expect your heating bill to go up from all the extra showers you will be taking :p

I usually take a shower after a days airsofting anyway so no real problems there :D. And I don't use my vest when I go airsofting, I was just letting Scanlant know I had no problems getting mine in.

Look, there is NO reason why I need a kevlar vest in the real world. I want it for milsim purposes. It may not be your cup of tea, but in milsim...well the clue is in the title.

I only asked would there be an issue with personal importation, I never asked to get opinions on the use of kevlar vests. That question has been answered by Dread-Lock (thanks by the way).

No worries, the last post did seem a bit aggressive, it wasn't my intention.

Milsim is one thing with cloned equipment, it's another with issued gear. It really helps with the "total immersion" of LARPing. Besides, when you lug the same amount of gear as a real soldier, you really appreciate the fitness and dedication that it takes, if only for a short time.
