Ad in the Star newspaper today, bottle of eagle hawk (great wine) for a fiver

Its true ... got a bottle of the 2008 Merlot last night - €5 :eek: , reduced from €9.49 .. further 5% when you buy 6 or more bottles ... Case of 12 will set you back €57 ... great value.

Great deal alright, got a similar price in Sainsburys in the north a couple of weeks ago. Looks like Tesco price matching is paying dividend

Word of warning though, make sure the wine displayed matches the wine on offer. I loaded up 6 bottles from the promotional display only to find out it was a different bottle to the one on offer, Tried to say that a customer must have put them back.... the whole display

. Anyway they gave them to me for a fiver a bottle. Great deal.

Also some nice wines in their 3 for €15 range this week. Blossom Hill and Lindermans are two I can remember.

Not sure of the red but I seen the white ok. Normally when they go on special they do both the red and white of the same brand. Worth checking out

Still loads of red and white in tesco dundrum, they are not in the wine shelves, but at the wall at the end of the shop, still in their boxes....got one of each, good value for a tenner...

They are great value at €5 in Ireland, but saw on tv up the North for £3.

Bought a bottle Weds Night €5 ...
Went to buy 6 bottles last night - Price gone back up to €7.49 !! - not even the supposed original price of €9.49 !!!

... Ive given up trying to understand Tesco prices ... it's like a battle of wills shopping in there !!!

I was lucky enough to get a few at the start of the promotion,and having returned to replenish the tastebuds with more on 3 occasions they were sold out of Chardonnay,it was the exact same with Cono-Sur the week before,useless bunch,in Newbridge anyway:mad:.
I`ve given up on them with their ~Wine Festival~ mellarchy.
Centra and Spar even beat them on some good offers when it comes to branded wines these days,who would have thought

For other good deals on the Vino M&S are giving 25% off 6 bottles again,just in time for the weekend
