I know they are traditional bottlers and all that but England are at 6/1 to win world cup. Looking at the other main rivals I think they are the best team and squad around and at 6/1 they look good value. They have a lot of goals in them and the defence in pretty solid, keeper issues still to be sorted fully. If we are going to be listening to the English media for the next 9 months about 66 et all, might as well make abit of money off them to ease the pain!

They have become a lot more solid with Capello and he wont fall foul of the media traps that others have in recent years. What do people think?

Brasil are the team to beat. They beat a very good Chile team last night with a youth team. I'd be putting my money on them winning it as the price is good at around 3/1.

Possibly, however one thing that is guaranteed is that they will go off at a fair bit less than 6s come next summer!

True, I do not know as much about Brazil but I believe their price is 3s becuase they are Brasil, I don't think there is a lot between them and England at all, not double prices definitly.

That is why I am think about it now, surely they will go off at 9/2 roughly.

I'll be backing the team with the best wing backs. So that won't be England I'm afraid.

Injuries could change this market a lot before the World Cup starts

Not a lot between them? :D

Brazil are streets ahead of England when it comes to football.

Brazil and England will play each other on November 14th I think in Doha, Qatar. Both sides will deffo be taking it seriously so I'd wait until after that.

First of if you think 6/1 is value then why aren't you snapping up the 13/2 & 7/1 available at some firms?

If you perceive England as being value at the current prices so well and good, however, I fail to see how any team right now is value, surely it's more sensible to await the confirmation of every team participating combined with annoucement of the drawing of groups

Don't let the English media influence you.

England will do well to make it to the last 4.

They bottle it in the big tournaments and are usually not good enough.

Brazil and Spain are light years ahead of them imo.

Brazil would seem to be the team to beat.. Italy are very poor but you couldnt rule them out , England have great players but just think they'l slip somewhere along the line, they remind me of the Dublin footballers, all hype and always let you down.. wouldnt put anyone off backing south africa at 100/1 ,look at the 2002 world cup and how well south korea done .. Being the home nation is a massive advantage

Brazil are 5-1 to win the WC and they are the team to beat. Trust me if we wern't living as near to the media hype surrounding this England you coundn't fancy them. They are a rubbish price for a team that consistently under-performs. Brazil are proven champions and proven winners unlike hype-machine England. England the Dublin footballers of soccer - all hype and no substance. Don't be gullible enough to listen to the English Tabloids or Sky.

Corals are the only offering 5-1 now about Brazil so get stuck in now.

If certain players are included in the Italian squad then I'd most likely go with them. Are people forgetting that they were written off prior to Germany 06?

I'm not sure how the drawing of groups matter. The WC gets some very poor teams. Spain, England and Brasil should walk out of any group, certainly if you think any of them can go on and win it. The advantage of waiting might see longer prices if any of them get a tough group.

As a few people said there, Italy and Germany will always be thereabouts.

I'd even say Argentina will be too, if they manage to struggle through their group.

If England are drawn along with favourable opponents then their price will not contract a whole lot, in fact, with most firms it won't contract at all as they will still want to lay and be competitive. If the opposite happens then firms will push them out a point. Overall, if I was betting on any team outright for the WC then I would rather see who my opponents are rather than bet blind - you have to take into consideration who your team may meet after the group stage. Seeing 6/1 on England or any other side you fancy as being value will be determined by who they could potentially meet further down the line.

In my opinion the English team are the best team in the world at present. Although most people on here detest the media and how they perceive them, if Ireland qualified with 2 games to go I think we'd be starting the victory party already. We bet Italy haha we bet the world champions we'll beat f*cking anyone!! :pac:

Meh, Brazil are the only team to win a WC away from home continent, 5/1 is a great price.

Brazil are 5/1 with powers, world number one spain are favourites at 9/2. My outside bet would be the dutch at 12s. Im sure you could get better prices.
